Madeira Wine Festival - Madeira

The Madeira wine festival is celebrated at the beginning of September in a number of villages where you can participate in various stages of the grape harvest including trying your hand, or rather your feet, at wine pressing! The celebrations are in some wine areas like Estreito de Camara de Lobos or Porto da Cruz as well as in the centre of Funchal where you can find special information at a wine lodge regarding Madeiran wine. There are folklore groups who sing, dance, provide entertainment at the event and show a bit of our culture. It's a great way to see Madeiran traditions.
