Madeira Wine Rally - Madeira

The Madeira Wine Rally happens every year in the first weekend of August.

This is the most spectacular sporting event in the Region and one of the most important competitions of the European Rally Championship bringing cars from the most recognized producers from all around the racing world.

This is the weekend when thousands of locals and tourists rush to the mountains to find the best spot to watch the competitors while they race up and down along the narrow and winding roads of Madeira.

This event combines a spectacular sport event with truly breathtaking views. There is a bit of everything; some beautiful coastline and a ridge of mountains that make up the backbone of the island. The route varies from year to year.

Typical of Madeira, August is the month with the highest number of popular festivals, and as such, will have a variety of stalls scattered throughout the island and prepared to serve food and drinks to those who want something typical of Madeira.
