Rota dos Cetáceos - Whale & Dolpin Watching, Swimming with Dolphins

Rota dos Cetaceos is a company dedicated to the observation of dolphins and whales in Madeira.

Guests on this tour are always accompanied by a marine biologists' team. Before each trip there is a short introduction, then the adventure starts!

We have lookouts on land who guide us to the animals, in vessels fully equipped for observing wild dolphins and whales.

It is also possible for guests to swim with dolphins, an unforgettable experience!

Cetacean Diversity: When an inclined blow appears at a distance on the surface, we are in the presence of a sperm whale. Bryde's whales, Fin whales, Sei whales and Minke whales are a few of the many other whale species found in Madeira.

Risso's dolphins, beaked whales, killer whales and falses whales are occasional visitors to these seas. Our regular trip companions are short-finned pilot whales (known in Madeira as pothead whales), bottlenose dolphins, Atlantic spotted dolphins and common dolphins who will amaze you. With calm seas and a strong sun you may admire countless sea turtles basking at the surface.

Our Boats: Trips are made in fast boats - semi-rigid type boats with capacity for 12 persons, or on board a modern engine catamaran with capacity for 50 persons.
