Faja dos Padres - Madeira

This property is set on a biological farm intended for nature lovers, comprising of 5 villas located on a narrow, thirteen acre stretch of land between an enormous cliff to the north and the huge, expansive sea to the south on the southern coast of Madeira island. Access to the property is done exclusively by an incredible panoramic lift that takes you 250m down the huge cliff to Faja dos Padres (188 steps down from the top of the cliff to the lift and 181 from the lift to the bottom).

The sea is right in front of the house, and Faja dos Padres exclusive pebble beach is some steps away.  A small pier and a solarium help having a comfortable swim in the Madeira mild and transparent waters.

Nice walks can be made inside the grounds of the property, through old alleys opened along exquisite tropical fruit trees, and below trellises of Malvasia wine vineyards.

Guests can freely use the lift whenever they want to go out to explore Madeira, visiting the nearest villages, trying out a levada walk, or having a thrilling experience of a sea trip to watch the whale and dolphins.

There is a restaurant magnificently located near the pier and pebble beach. The  restaurant serves a careful selection of dishes with its origins in the traditional Madeiran cuisine. Tuna and other fresh fish dishes can be highlighted, as well as the desserts and side dishes prepared from locally grown products.

Also, do not miss the opportunity to accompany the main meal with the locally produced table wine.

A welcome basket with locally produced fruits is offered to guests on arrival.

Guests should leave their luggage on the road level, and call the lift operator to take care of them. Luggage goes down in the cargo lift, and if possible, is delivered directly to the cottage.

The access to the lift is opened every day from 11am to 6pm, except on Tuesdays. For out-of-hours the trips should be arranged with the lift operator previously. 

Late check out policy:
If the property has availability they will let guests stay until 16h00.  However, they can only inform this on arrival. 

Policy on children staying with parents:

Children from 2-11 years can stay when sharing with two adults at a charge.

Children up to 23 months can stay in a cot (free) sharing with two adults.

Cancellation Policy:

1 night will be charged for cancellations after 7 days prior to arrival or no shows.

Our service fee is not refundable and any refund, when applicable, will be subject to eventual bank transfer fee to be charged to the client.

This property is not suitable for guests with mobility disabilities.

The property closes from 10th January, 2010 till 28th February, 2010.
